DSS3 – Lift for Pallet Trucks and Stackers

Dendro DSS3 is a lift designed for servicing pallet trucks and smaller machines without requiring a low and uncomfortable working position.

DSS3 – Lift for Pallet Trucks and Stackers

Servicing and maintenance of stackers, support-leg trucks and pallet trucks often require working in low and ergonomically unfavourable positions. In addition, scissor lifts are sometimes used, even though they neither provide sufficient stability nor full access to all sides of the vehicle. DSS3 instead enables safe, stable and ergonomic servicing of material handling equipment in professional workshop environments. As a result, technicians can work efficiently and in full control from the very beginning.

DSS3 – Lift for Order Pickers and Stackers handles service lifting of stackers, pallet trucks and transporters with a total weight of up to 3,600 kg. At the same time, the design meets the requirements for safety, reliability and efficiency in modern workshop operations.

What is DSS3 – lift for order pickers and stackers?

DSS3 functions as a freestanding Stacker Service Lift that raises stackers and order pickers to an ergonomically correct working height for service and maintenance. At the same time, the lift provides stable positioning of the vehicle and free access from three sides.

Moreover, this configuration simplifies work on motors, batteries, brakes and wheel suspension. Consequently, service tasks can be carried out without moving the vehicle during ongoing work.

Dendro Lift developed DSS3 in cooperation with leading stacker manufacturers. Therefore, the lift fulfils both practical and safety-related requirements for daily workshop use.

Use of DSS3 for order pickers and stackers

DSS3 is used for service lifting of stackers, support-leg trucks, pallet trucks and internal transport vehicles with a maximum load of 3,600 kg. Above all, the lift is suitable for environments where regular maintenance requires the vehicle to remain safely raised throughout the service operation.

Typical areas of use include forklift workshops, logistics centres, warehouses, terminals and industrial facilities with internal material handling. In this way, DSS3 supports both efficient servicing and a safe working environment.

Lifting principle of DSS3 for stacker servicing

During operation, the operator inserts the stacker’s support legs and forks into the lift’s dedicated pick-up points and secures them using fastening screws. In this way, the lift creates a stable and secure attachment throughout the entire lifting and service process.

The operator then adjusts the lifting height steplessly via the control panel. At the same time, the lifting and lowering movement remains controlled and precise, allowing the working height to be adapted to the specific service task. The maximum lifting height is 1,800 mm.

Ergonomics during servicing of order pickers and stackers

DSS3 improves the working environment during service operations by lifting the vehicle to the correct working height. Therefore, the need to work in kneeling, crouched or twisted positions is significantly reduced.

At the same time, free access to the vehicle’s components lowers the physical load on the back, knees and shoulders. Consequently, the risk of strain-related injuries during repeated service work is reduced.

Design and mechanical construction of DSS3

DSS3 uses a self-locking, non-reversing trapezoidal lifting spindle with safety nut to hold the load securely in position. As a result, no additional mechanical locking devices are required during service work.

Furthermore, the drive system incorporates an enclosed gearbox with brake motor. This solution prevents unintentional lowering of the load and ensures stable operation both during lifting and when stationary.

Integrated safety functions in DSS3

DSS3 combines several safety functions to protect both the operator and the equipment during daily use. These include:

  • Self-locking, non-reversing trapezoidal lifting spindle with safety nut

  • Enclosed gearbox with brake motor to prevent unintentional lowering

  • Easily accessible emergency stop on the control panel

  • Safety limit switches for monitoring nut wear

  • Safety limit switches that check for obstacles beneath the lift during lowering

  • Safety limit switches for both maximum and minimum lifting height

CE certification and applicable standards

DSS3 is CE certified in accordance with SS-EN 1493:2022, the standard for vehicle lifts. Consequently, the lift complies with EU requirements regarding safety, functionality and documentation for professional workshop use.

Technical data and performance

DSS3 provides a lifting capacity of up to 3,600 kg and a maximum lifting height of 1,800 mm. At the same time, the lifting and lowering movement allows controlled and precise positioning of the vehicle during service operations.

The design supports continuous use and maintains stable performance even under frequent load conditions.

Installation, positioning and operating environment

DSS3 does not require any fixed floor installation. The operator places the lift on a level and load-bearing surface and connects it to a 3 × 400 V, 16 A power supply. In addition, the lift can be moved between workstations using the optional Mover 2.0 or by forklift.

The lift is intended for indoor use in industrial environments and must be operated in accordance with applicable instructions and safety procedures.

Difference between DSS3 and DSS2

DSS3 handles service lifting of stackers and order pickers with weights of up to 3,600 kg. In contrast, DSS2 provides an alternative for lighter applications with a maximum capacity of 2,500 kg.

This allows operators to select the appropriate lift based on vehicle weight and application, while maintaining the same fundamental principles of safety and ergonomics.

Operation, service and service life

Finally, DSS3 delivers a reliable solution for long-term operation in demanding environments. The robust mechanical construction and use of proven components contribute to low maintenance requirements and a long service life.

Therefore, with access to Dendro Lift’s service organisation and spare parts supply, the lift can remain in operation for many years, even under high usage frequency.
