DSS2 – Lifts for Stackers and Pallet Trucks

DSS2 – Lift for Stackers and Pallet Trucks
DSS2 – Lift for Stackers and Pallet Trucks enables safe, stable and ergonomic servicing in professional workshop environments.
Service and maintenance otherwise often require working in low and ergonomically unfavourable positions or the use of scissor lifts that do not provide sufficient stability or free access to the vehicle. With DSS2, service work can instead be carried out in a controlled and efficient manner from the correct working height from the outset.
DSS2 is designed for service lifting of stackers and pallet trucks with a maximum weight of up to 2,500 kg. The design therefore meets high requirements for safety, reliability and functionality in daily workshop operations.
What is a DSS2 – lift for stackers and pallet trucks?
DSS2 is a freestanding service lift that raises stackers and pallet trucks to an ergonomically correct working height for service and maintenance. At the same time, the lift provides stable positioning of the vehicle and free access from three sides.
This configuration simplifies work on motors, batteries, brakes and wheel suspension. As a result, service operations can be carried out without moving the truck during ongoing work.
Dendro Lift developed DSS2 in cooperation with leading truck manufacturers, ensuring that the design fulfils both practical and safety-related requirements in workshop environments.
Use of DSS2 for stackers and pallet trucks
DSS2 is used for service lifting of stackers, pallet trucks and internal transport vehicles with a maximum load of 2,500 kg. The lift is particularly suitable for environments where regular maintenance requires the vehicle to remain safely raised throughout the entire service operation.
Typical areas of use include forklift workshops, logistics centres, warehouses, terminals and industrial facilities with internal material handling.
Lifting principle of DSS2 during servicing
During operation, the operator inserts the stacker’s or pallet truck’s forks and support structure into the lift’s dedicated pick-up points and secures them using fastening screws. This creates a stable and secure attachment throughout the entire lifting and service process.
The operator then adjusts the lifting height steplessly via the control panel. The lifting and lowering movement remains controlled and precise, allowing the working height to be adapted to the specific service task. The maximum lifting height is 1,800 mm.
Ergonomics when servicing with DSS2
DSS2 improves the working environment during service operations by lifting the truck to the correct working height. Consequently, the need to work in kneeling, crouched or twisted positions is significantly reduced.
At the same time, free access to the truck’s components lowers the physical load on the back, knees and shoulders. This reduces the risk of strain-related injuries during repeated service work.
Design and mechanical construction of DSS2
DSS2 uses a self-locking trapezoidal lifting screw with lifting and safety nut to hold the load securely in position. As a result, no additional mechanical locking is required before service work begins.
The drive system incorporates a gear motor with brake, which prevents unintentional lowering of the load. This design ensures reliable operation both during lifting and when the load is stationary.
Integrated safety functions in DSS2
DSS2 incorporates several safety functions to protect both the operator and the equipment during daily use, including:
-
Self-locking lifting screw with lifting and safety nut
-
Brake motor to prevent unintentional lowering of the load
-
Emergency stop on the control panel
-
Limit switch functions for monitoring nut wear
-
Limit switch functions for obstacle detection during lowering
CE certification and applicable standards
DSS2 is CE certified in accordance with SS-EN 1493:2022, the standard for vehicle lifts. This certification confirms that the lift meets EU requirements regarding safety, functionality and documentation for professional workshop use.
Technical data and performance
DSS2 provides a lifting capacity of up to 2,500 kg and a maximum lifting height of 1,800 mm. The lifting and lowering movement allows controlled and precise positioning of the vehicle during service operations.
The design supports continuous use and maintains stable performance even under frequent load conditions.
Installation, positioning and operating environment
DSS2 does not require any fixed floor installation. The operator places the lift on a level and load-bearing surface and connects it to a 3 × 400 V, 16 A power supply. The freestanding design allows the lift to be moved easily using the option Mover 2.0, or by a forklift.
The lift is intended for indoor use in industrial environments and must be operated in accordance with applicable instructions and safety procedures.
Difference between DSS2 and DSS3
DSS2 is designed for service lifting of stackers and pallet trucks with weights of up to 2,500 kg. In contrast, DSS3 provides a solution for heavier applications with lifting capacities of up to 3,600 kg.
This allows operators to select the appropriate lift based on vehicle weight and application, while maintaining the same fundamental principles of safety and ergonomics.
Operation, service and service life
Finally, DSS2 delivers a reliable solution for long-term operation in demanding workshop environments. The robust mechanical design and use of proven components contribute to low maintenance requirements and a long service life.
With access to Dendro Lift’s service organisation and spare parts supply, the lift can remain in operation for many years, even under high usage frequency.
